Enchanted River - Hinatuan

June 28, 8PM, we left Cagayan de Oro and headed for Butuan where we will spend the night at our "mini-hacienda" so I call it. After 5 hours of travel, we finally arrived in Butuan City. My aunt and Lola Nanay were there to  meet us and prepared our meals.

The next day, we headed for the Enchanted River in Hinatuan at 7am in the morning. We had to stop over at Barobo 's New Market to buy fish and meat for our lunch.

It was a long ride from Barobo to Hinatuan and another 12 km rough ride from Hinatuan crossing to the Echanted River. You'd see this sign to your left and from there pay the entrance fee of PHP30 per head.

In between the rough and bumpy road, we were asked to pay toll twice with the amount of PHP10 which makes it PHP20 in total.

We arrived at Enchanted River at around 11 am and were able to get a cottage that costs PHP100 and PHP50 for one additional table and 4 additional chairs. We also had our fish and meat grilled from one of the stores located before the gates of Enchanted River. Service fee for cooking the fish is PHP30 per kilo and PHP40 per kilo for the meat. They will give you a sort of table number so they can just deliver the food at your cottage once it's cooked.

Everyone was excited to take a dip at the famous Enchanted River. So we hurried to get life jackets which by the way costs PHP15 per hour and you have to leave an identification card so you can rent one.

This is how the majestic Enchanted River looks like:

The river is blue and if you snorkle on it, you'd see fishes at the bottom of the river both tiny and large ones. One thing that shouldn't be missed here is the fish feeding at 12 noon and 3 PM where everyone is asked to get out of the water so they can feed the fishes. It was a wonderful sight. One hear of the bell, the fishes appear at the edge of the water waiting to be fed.

So here we are during our Enchanted River escapade. It was totally fun!

Underwater shots:
See how blue and clear the water is.

A snorkle is a must-bring for you to be able to explore what's under water.
