Britania Islands Escapade

After the amazing experience in Tinuy-an Falls, we started to head back for another long drive to La Entrada in Britania where we'll stay for the night.

It was already past 6pm so we stopped over Bislig's Baywalk for dinner before going back on the road.

The trip to Britania was a 3-hour drive and the road was pretty scary because there were no streetlights in most areas.
We had to check our GPS from time to time to ensure we we're on the right track.

So finally we arrived at La Entrada at around 9pm. The whole place did not have electricity due to a sudden blackout leaving the generator as the resort's source of power.

The room that we reserved unfortunately was not connected to the resort's generator and there were no more vacant rooms that can accommodate 10 people. We had no choice but to get the room with no electricity since it was already 9pm and everyone was already exhausted with the travel. We were hoping that somehow the power will go back in no time. The resort gave us 2 flashlights which worn out after 2 hours. Imagine how scary it was to sleep with no lights, windows open and it was so hot. It was definitely very inconvenient.
But then again, we didn't mind anymore as long as we can rest and sleep.

The next day, we woke up around 6am and there was still no electricity. Mom cooked breakfast and by 8am we were all ready for the island hopping.

All set for Island Hopping:

Panorama View

So it began. Our first stop was at Hagonoy Island. It was the best island out of the 4 islands in Britania. The sand is white and the water so blue and so clear. I call it the "mini-boracay".

Next island was called the Naked Island. It's a white sandbar in the middle of the sea. This island reminds me of Camiguin White Island.

Next, the Yoryoran Island. The mangroves looked nice but you really can't swim here due to the sea weeds.

Our last stop was at Buslon Island where we had our lunch. Not much like the Hagonoy island but they have a spot where the waters are clear. The island also has 2 grottos of the Virgin Mary. It was on the later part that we found out that there was a clear swimming area near the grotto.

We went back to the resort just in time for checkout. We were very disappointed that up to this time, the power hasn't come back yet.

When it was time for checkout, the resort only gave us 20% discount for the inconvenience of no electricity and our room not being part of their generator. We did not have lights like the other rooms in their resort nor a rechargeable fan to keep us cool. We believe we should have been given more than 20% to compensate the inconvenience we experienced with the resort. I would have recommended their resort to my colleagues if they did that but with what we've experience, I surely would think twice.

We head back to Cagayan de Oro by 1pm and arrived at 11pm. It was indeed a great weekend and we are so blessed to have a wonderful weather during our whole stay in Surigao.

Until our next adventure! Bye for now 🚎...
