1st Wedding Anniversary Celebration @ Boracay

August 7 - 11, 2009

Boracay - this was the most awaited day for Boo and I as our parents went to accompany us to the airport for our early morning flight to Cebu. We barely had slept the night before and I had trouble getting myself to sleep. Probably this was the result of all the excitement and preparation for our most awaited vacation - Our trip to Bora. We made bookings for our Boracay trip at Cebu Pacific months earlier and since then we were both looking forward to this very day. We also made bookings for our hotel accommodations at the Orchids Beach Resort and bought accessories for our Bora use. And this time around, Boo and I took light snacks before leaving the house and so as brought with us biscuits because we know that we would be hungry along the way especially while we’re waiting for our boarding time.

We safely arrived at the Mactan International Airport in Cebu at 7:30 am and spent the rest of the time eating Panini while surfing the net wirelessly for free using our laptops. We boarded our plane at 9:50 am and arrived at the Kalibo airport an hour after.

The plane trip to Kalibo airport had me so dizzy that I want to puke and the worst part is that we need to travel for 2 hours to Caticlan. Cebu Pac provided a free shuttle ride to Caticlan since they have suspended their flights at the Caticlan airport because of its runway shortage. I was really praying hard that I’ll be able to sleep through the whole trip so I would feel better when I wake up and God was so kind to make me sleep through the whole trip and I felt better when we arrived at the Caticlan Jetty Port.

The staff from Orchids Beach resort contacted us and gave us directions on what to do after arriving at the Caticlan Jetty Port. The wind along with the waves was too strong that we had to go to the other “sakayan ng Bangka” by riding a tricycle. The tricycle fee costs PHP40 each for the two of us and upon arriving at the “sasakyan ng bangka”, the resort’s staff, Jerry guided us to the bangka and we paid PHP150 for the boat ride. The bangka driver asked everyone to wear the life vest for safety precautions and the trip lasted for only 15 minutes. Upon docking at the Boracay shores, Jerry led us to ride a tricycle that will bring us to the resort. The special ride costs us PHP100. After a 15-20 minute ride, we finally arrived near the main road and took a few more walks before we finally arrived at the resort located at Station 3.

We spend the whole afternoon exploring the island from Station 3 to Station 1 and not to forget taking pictures along the way. We stopped at Willy’s rock in Station 1 and returned to our resort to change into our swimming clothes. Boo and I were both wearing yellow today and I so liked how we both looked.
After swimming on the beach, Boo and I walked back to Station 2 to buy some fruit shakes and also did sightseeing on where to take our dinner. After returning back to our hotel, our foot hurt a lot and we had to rest for a bit before going out again to eat.

This time we ate at the Victory buffet dinner that cost PHP250 per pax. The food was okay but not that impressive yet we had no other choice since we don’t know which of the buffets taste good until we try them. Jerry from the resort was not able to recommend any buffet restaurant that we go to. He just told us not to trust so much on the restaurants that served buffet meals because they had customers before who reported that they had bad stomach after eating from the buffet meals.

Well so much for the details of our trip,  let the pictures do the talking:
