Our Honeymoon: Day 3: Batangas - Tagaytay -Taal

August 11, 2008.

We woke up early as planned since Tita Belen arranged our tour to start at 6:30 in the morning. We freshened up, took our breakfast and went packing for the day's trip to Tagaytay and for our Baguio trip the next day. We planned to leave our maletas at Ninong Noel's van so we won't be having a hard time bringing our stuff during the travel.

Before starting the official tour, we went to Boo's other relatives first to say hi and for me to officially meet my new extended family. They were so kind and gave me a warm welcome. We also received wedding gifts from those who were not able to attend our wedding.

Here are some of our pictures:

Now for the official tour, we used Ninong Noel's van for our transportation and Ninang Lou and Tita Belen on the other hand was our tour guide. And we? Well, we are the guests.hehehe...

So our first itinerary for the day was Church hopping. A saying goes in Batangas that if this is the first time that you have been to the place, you must visit at least 3 churches, make a wish and for that your wish will come true! And that was exactly what we did.

The first church was the one just outside the compound, the second one was a 20min ride from the first where we prayed for our wishes and lastly, the third church was at the Taal church. The Taal church is one of the oldest church here in the Phillipines. You would see the history speak itself when you're inside the church and the people as well are doing their best to preserve its mark in history and of course it's sacredness.

Here are some snaps during our church hopping (in correct order):

After visiting Taal church, Ninang Lou and Tita Belen opted not to join us for the rest of the tour since our next stop would be in Tagaytay and Taal which was a 2-hour ride from Batangas. And after the Tagaytay trip, we'll be heading back to Manila.

The trip to Tagataytay took approximately about 2 hours (if I'm not mistaken). During the trip we passed over a castle that looked liked the ones from Disneyland. We tried to enter the place just to take pictures but the guard told us that we have to pay PHP1000 for everyone just to enter the castle. So sad. :(

This is what the castle looked like from where we parked:

We continued our trip aside from our dismay of going into the castle. When we finally reached Tagaytay, the driver took us to Taal Vista Hotel so we could get to see a better view of the Taal lake. I was quite nervous with this since we won't be checking in at all, we'll just be taking pictures and I wonder if that's okay. But I guess it was because we were able to take pictures.

Indeed, the Taal Vista Hotel has a better view of the Taal lake. It was really a breathtaking scenery that you shouldn't miss! It's a perfect masterpiece created by God. If only we could stay for long. Oh well! It was enough to see this beautiful creation not only in pictures but see it for real.

Here are our pictures of the Taal lake from the Taal Vista Hotel:

After the breathtaking scenery of Taal, the driver wanted to tour us at Casino Filipino which was just in front of the Taal Vista Hotel. One of Boo's relatives wanted to go inside to play for a while, unfortunately, he was wearing shorts and so all we did was just to take pictures.

Snaps at the Casino Filipino:

Our next destination was the Tagatay Picnic Groove which also gives a closer view of the Taal lake. But you have to go down to get a closer and better look of the taal lake. We stayed there for an hour roaming around, taking pictures and even bought some souvenirs. We were supposed to take our lunch there but we were quite running out of time and we really need to head back to Manila.

Here are some snaps at the Picnic Groove:

It was already past lunch time when we head back to Manila. So we took our lunch aon one of the restaurants who were said to be famous of their bulalo.

Here's our snaps at the Bulalo Restaurant:

We reached Manila 2 hours after and met Ninong Noel near Rustan's. Boo and I planned to visit Ate Jan, Boo's sis in the afternoon and head for Baguio in the evening. We spent the whole afternoon with Ate Jan and when night time arrived, Ninong Noel along with the others fetched us to the Bus terminal heading for Baguio. They even made arrangements for us with their distant relative in Baguio to meet us at the bus terminal and help us look for a place where we can sleep during our stay.

We feel so grateful for their help! Thank you po! Without them, we would have not enjoyed the whole trip.

Here's more of our pictures while waiting for Ninong Noel and some pics with Ate Jan:
