A Dolphin Trip to Remember

Same year of October 2006, Boo and I went to explore the nature and beauty of Misamis Occidental Aquamarine Park also known as MOAP. So we took a 2 days off from work and off we went to Sinakaban.

The trip took around 4 hours plus and to get there, we went to the Bulua Bus Terminal and rode a bus going to Dipolog. When going to MOAP, you'll get to pass by Iligan City, Linamon, and Osamis City. In order to get to Osamis you need to ride the Ferry along with the Dipoolog Bus. The problem that we had that time was, we did not return to the bus when the ferry was about to arrive at the port of Osamis, we only went there when it was about to leave the ferry and so the conductor did not let us in and told us to wait outside the port terminal. When the Bus finally went out, it drove straight ahead and did not stop to where we were waiting. And that leaves us both to making a way on our own to MOAP.

Good thing there were still good people here on Earth that God created, somebody directed us to where we can ride a van to get us to MOAP. The fare costs around 30 pesos and the van drove us to MOAP's crossing. From there you need to take a 15-20 minute walk to get to MOAP's gate.

After arriving to the place, we immediately went to the Reception to check-in, unfortunetely, the DORM was already taken and the only available room was the suite room that costs 2000 pesos for an overnight stay. So we had no choice but to choose the suite room since we were so tired of the trip that we really wanted to rest already. But to our surprise, the suite room was all worth it! It has 2 twin beds with pull-out beds underneath each bed . It has a mini sala, a mini kicthen, a rest room, a refrigerator and a television. Also, the Suite room includes Breaksfast for 2 and a free trip to the Dolphin island. So I guess the 2000 pesos that we spent was all worth it!

So after we settled in our room, we took our lunch and got a full rest. The next morning, we went to eat our free breakfast at the restaurant and by 8am went to the Dolphin Island to see the Dolphins, of course. After an hour of watching the Dolphins, we went back to the suite room, changed clothes, then went to visit the mini-zoo and its wishing well. After doing so, we went fishing for an hour and caught 6 fishes. 3 by me and 3 by Boo. We brought the fish to the restaurant and have them cooked it grilled and with Sweet and Sour sauce. Our lunch was really yummy then! We checked out around 1 PM and headed our way to Osamis since we can no longer afford the suite room.
Here's our pictures for our MOAP trip.

After we checked-out at MOAP, we went back to Osamis and looked for a place to stay. We went to their Cathedral first, prayed there and lit up candles. In front of the church was the ATM, so we went there after to get some money. From the ATM, we walked ahead and saw the Royal Garden Hotel to stay there for the night. It costs us around 800 plus for that. After putting our luggage, we went out to roam around Osamis for the rest of the afternoon.

In Osamis, you get to see their 'sikad' with its head pointing up and they also have a all-in-one mall called B & G Building (i'm not sure if that was the name), where you can dine at either McDonalds, Jollibee, Dunkin Donuts and ect. They have a pharmacy, a movie house, arcade and tiange. That's why I call it an all-in-one store. From there, we passed by a boutique where I bought coin purses as pasalubong to my agents. I also bought beaded necklaces for them and a pouch bag for my mom. Before we went home, we bought lechon manok with rice and had groceries at Mercury Drug for the things that we need. Oh before I forgot, we also went to Novo Osamis and bought a pad paper! (hehehe)

The next day around lunch time, we checked-out from the hotel and went to the Osamis Bus Terminal. As a lesson learned, right after we paid for our ferry tickets and after our bus boarded on the ferry, we immediately went up to the bus to make sure that they won't leave us behind when we arrive at the port accross (I forgot the name). But then, I felt dizzy during the trip. So when we arrive at Iligan, we decided to stop for the night. Here's our pictures at Osamis:

So we stayed for another night at Iligan and stayed at Rene's Diner and slept for the rest of the afternoon because I felt very dizzy. We woke up at around 7PM and were very hungry. So we went out to look for food. At the center of Iligan, we found a Barbeque station that sells very delicious food for a very affordable price. After having our dinner, we went to one of their Internet Cafe's to do some surfing and went back to the hotel around 11pm to get some sleep.

The next morning, we decided to go to Timoga to take a swim. That was around 7AM in the morning and lucky us, we were the only one's whose there. The entrance fee was around 50 pesos and the fare from the Iligan proper to Timoga was around 12 pesos. We did not get a cottage because we won't be staying there for too long anyway. After an hour of swimming, we headed back to the hotel, got our things, checked-out and went to Chedings to buy pasalubong. Cheding's is the famouse peanut store in Mindanao. And oh, before I forgot, we also went to Iligan's Cathedral, prayed there and lit up 3 candles just like what we did at Osamis and Malaybalay. Jeff and I always make it to a point that we visit the Cathedral's of every place that we go to, pray there and light up 3 candles.

After buying pasalubongs, we went to the Iligan Bus Terminal and headed our way to CDO. It took 2 hours plus for us to arrive at the Bulua Bus Terminal and we arrived around 4 in the afternoon in our respective homes bringing all the memories that we had on our unforgetable vacation.

And that's how our Unforgettable Dolphin Trip ended. Though it costs us around 5K for everything, with all the adventures that we have and the memories that we shared? it's all worth it and I really wanna do it again! *smiles*
